Weekly Attendance Attestation

Virtualis — Virtual Program

? Why this form & what counts — click to read Tap to expand

This is the weekly parent attestation for Virtualis families. Every Sunday by 11:59 p.m., parents confirm their scholar's enrollment, engagement, and instructional time during the prior week.

Wisconsin compulsory attendance. Wis. Stat. § 118.15 requires children ages 6–18 to attend a qualifying school. VCA satisfies that requirement; weekly attestations document compliance.

Hours of instruction (HOI) requirement. Wis. Stat. § 118.165(1)(c): private schools provide a minimum of 1,050 hours for grades K–6 and 1,137 hours for grades 7–12 of instruction per school year.

Choice program documentation. For families using MPCP, RPCP, or SNSP, this attestation supports DPI auditor-required attendance and engagement records.

Engagement means your scholar participated in school instruction this week:

  • Live classes (Great Hearts Online, WVS, or VCA-led) — Socratic discussions, recitations, office hours, small-group instruction
  • Asynchronous teacher-directed work in Canvas, Buzz, IXL, or Spark (lectures, readings, problem sets, labs)
  • Assessments, projects, and writing that receive teacher feedback
  • Assigned reading, math practice, science work, world-language practice
  • Chapel, Faith Coach sessions, and Christian formation aligned to the VCA program

Hour thresholds (per week): K–6 = 32 hrs, 7–12 = 35 hrs. The form below adjusts based on each scholar's grade.

Submission deadline: Sunday at 11:59 p.m. each week. One submission per family covering all enrolled scholars. This is a Virtualis policy; the underlying compliance obligation is per Wis. Stat. § 118.165(1)(c).
